Once again, Creston Mapes crafted a story full of twists, turns, thrills and chills wrapped inside a story of faith and love.
Two years ago, Jack and Pam Crittendon experienced a monumental test of their faith when a disturbed man from Pam's past began to stalk her. Both Pam and Jack had to delve deep into their faith to deal with the fallout. While Pam learned to give her hate, anger and fear over to the Lord, Jack doesn't follow the same path once the man who nearly destroyed his world is released from prison. Jack won't let go of his fear or anxiety and feeds the monster of hate with his worries for his family’s safety. Soon, Jack's troubled soul becomes a stumbling block that starts to grow into a massive wall that threatens to ruin his marriage.
In the midst of his personal struggles, Jack finds himself smack dab inside a mystery when a close friend becomes ill. Jack is desperate to focus on something other than his own internal poison, and soon finds himself embroiled in a vast conspiracy surrounding the town's largest employer, the fiberglass manufacturing plant Demler-Vargus.
As Jack begins investigating the company, headed by slick-tongued millionaire Leonard Bendickson, III, he starts to sense the strange illnesses and mysterious deaths of several individuals, including long time employees of the plant and his friend, are all tied together. The problem is, the more Jack digs, the more he becomes a target. Because the sinister, money-hungry players with dirty hands who run "Poison Town" don't plan on letting Jack expose them.
Will Jack be able to unravel the mystery before more people die? Can his tenuous marriage survive his ever-growing rage? Find out inside the pages of this fantastic thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wondering if the same thing could be happening in your town.
